Carrie Underwood’s ‘Blown Away’ Holds Second Week at No. 1

Carrie Underwood holds steady at No. 1 spot on the ‘Billboard 200‘ for a second week. The country singers fourth studio album ‘Blown Away‘ debut at no. 1 last week, selling 267,000 copies. It’s the second largest arrival of 2012 so far. This week the album sold another 120,000 copies, making it her first album to spend more than one week at no. 1.

With ‘Blown Away‘ hitting #1, she became the third female to chart at number one on the Billboard 200 with three country albums, thus tying her with Linda Ronstadt and Faith Hill. Like her three previous album, Blown Away also debuted at the top of the Country Albums chart, making Underwood only the second female to achieve that feat.

Congratulations to Carrie Underwoods and her supportive fans who helped her reach such success.

‘The Boondocks’ Returns With a 4th Season

The Freeman Family will make their return to Adult Swim as the cable network officially confirmed a fourth season of ‘The Boondocks‘.  The new season of the animated series is said to be consist of 20 episodes, however there is still no start date for those upcoming episodes. Base on previous seasons airing, it’s pretty safe to assume that season four will premiere during the fall.

New Season of The Boondocks coming to Adult Swim. Aaron McGruder’s animated series The Boondocks returns to Adult Swim for a new season. Brothers Huey and Riley Freeman live in the suburbs with their Granddad, Robert Freeman, and their friends and neighbors such as Thomas Dubois, Sarah Dubois, Jazmine Dubois, Uncle Ruckus, Ed Wuncler Sr., Ed Wuncler III, Gin Rummy, and Otis Jenkins. Other recurring characters have included Gangstalicious, Macktastic, Flonominal, Leonard, A Pimp Named Slickback, Colonel H. Stinkmeaner, Reverend Rollo Goodlove, Cindy MacPhearson, Mr. G. Petto, Bushido Brown, Wedgie Rudlin, and Mrs. Von Heusen. Katy Perry to Debut a New Song at Billboard Awards

Katy Perry has been added to the long list of performers to put on a show at this years Billboard Music Awards. The “Teenage Dream” singer will debut her new song “Wide Awake“, taken from the re-release of her third studio album, ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection‘. The track was written by Katy and produced by Dr. Luke and Cirkut. It is about the reality of a breakup and moving on, pretty much her part two to “Part of Me”. She sure now how to let her ex have it, I wonder what Russell Brand thinks when he hears it. Take a listen to the “Wide Awake” track below:

 

The Tony T. Davis directed music video shot back in late April and wrapped on May 2nd. As a part deal with Pepsi the video will be used as a tie-in-promo for her 2012 3D documentary film “Katy Perry: Part of Me“.

The Billboard Awards is this Sunday May 20th.

BET Fires Terrance & Rocsi From “106 & Park?

Yesterday fans of comedy drama series “The Game” was shock when BET fired the two main characters played by Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall. However it seems like Tia and Pooch aren’t the only two BET is giving the boots. It’s rumored that “106 & Park” co-host Terrance J and Rocsi is next on the list. According to new reports/rumor, the two only have three months remaining with the network.

After the sudden termination of my favorite co-host of all time, Free and A.J, I would be surprise if this is true. Terrance and Rocsi has been in their position for quiet a while but with Terrenc recent successful movie roles such as his role in “Think Like A Man”, it could be that he is ready to move on. As far as Rocsi’s career, I don’t what to say besides she better start looking for a plan B.

Please keep in mind that at this time this is nothing more than a rumor with no creditable source. However with yesterday’s sudden shakeup I figured the topic was post worthy. Stay tune as I will update as soon as I can confirm the story as true or false.

But honestly would you be surprise if this happens?

(BlackMediaScoop) “106 & Park” co-host Rocsi Diaz has her sights on Hollywood. The Honduran-Chilean host is leaving the BET show after nearly seven years and moving to California to pursue acting.

Diaz already scored a role in a project starring Lynn Whitfield. She joined “106 & Park” in 2006 after working as a radio DJ in Boston and Chicago. Her “106” sidekick, Terrence J, is also said to be leaving the show to pursue acting. Terrence is dating model Selita Ebanks.

According to sources, Terrence J. is also making plans to leave the show as a host, to pursue an acting career as well. Both have appeared in high-profile movies in the past year. Rocsi will be featured in the movie “Soul Ties,” while Terrence J. had a starring role in Steve Harvey’s movie “Think Like a Man.”

There was no time frame for the their departure from “106 & Park.” Terrence J. and Rocsi are the third set of hosts for “106 & Park,” since the show’s launch in 2000.

Free and AJ Calloway were the original hosts from 2000-2005, while Big Tigger and Julissa Bermudez hosted the show for one year, from 2005-2006

 

Sheree Whitfield Tells Why She Quit ‘Real Housewives’

For the first time since going public with the with the announcement that she is no-longer apart of the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta‘, Sheree Whitfield is telling us why. The reality TV star turned has been, recently say down with Essence Magazine to talk about why she left the show. You will never guess her allege reason for leaving the show which was paying her $500,000 per season. If you were thinking more money or jealous that Nene and Kim got a spinoff, then we are on the same page but wrong. According Ms. Whitfield, she left the show because she didn’t like the way the show portrayed her and it had a negative affect on her and her kids lives.

“I wasn’t happy with as far as how I was portrayed. I was going through some really tough things in my life and watching back and seeing how it affected not only my life, but also my kids’ lives,” she told Essence magazine.

“I made a decision that I didn’t want to be selfish. My kids come first. I am super happy and I’m moving in a different direction. This is what I know. I’m not about just being on a show bickering and fighting with women.”
“There are big parts of my life that weren’t shown that I’m ready for everybody to see.”

I’m calling BS when I hear it and this have got to be one of the biggest BS ever. For one, she is crying broke and not getting any child support, so how is quitting $500,000 per year going to help her or the kids? Why did it take her four seasons to realize she was being portray in a bad light?

Sheree can continue to try and fool people but she doesn’t fool me. She say all this to try and portray herself as the caring mother who choose family over money, only because she know Bravo is too professional to disclose the real reason the “fired her”. “Who gon check me boo….bye”

Nene Leaks New Sitcom “The New Normal” Trailer

‘The New Normal‘ is an upcoming television comedy series that will premiere on NBC this fall. The sitcom got much attention since Real Housewives of Atlanta reality tv star Nene Leaks announced she would be apart of the show. The premise of the show is “A woman becomes a sure surrogate mother so a gay couple can start a family”. Nene will play the role of Rocky, the loud black employee of one of a gay boss. Watch the first trailer of the upcoming series below.

 

The show is being called Nene Leakes sitcom but from the trailer she doesn’t seem to be a major character. The fact that she is play the role of a loud mouth doesn’t surprise me, that’s her rise to fame. Unfortunately this trailer didn’t sway my interest into watching the show and I must admit I didn’t laugh until the mother and Nene appeared in the trailer. For a sitcom I expect the entire trailer to be funny from start to finish. Anyways I’m sure curiosity will eventually push me to watch at least one episode.
