Sheryl Crow Reveals She Has A Brain Tumor

Country singer Shery Crow, yesterday revealed  that she has a brain tumor, but doesn’t want us to worry. Crow recently had trouble remembering the lyrics to her  number one single ‘Soak Up The Sun’, which  caused some fans to grow concerned.

50-year-old Crow told the Las Vegas Review Journal, “I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumor … but it’s benign, so I don’t have to worry about it.”

You’ll recall — Sheryl choked on stage last month in Florida, forgetting the lyrics to one of her most famous songs. She said, “I’m 50 what can I say! My brain has gone to s**t!” (TMZ)

It is such a sigh of relief to learn that the tumor is not benign.

Queen Latifah Denies Coming Out At Long Beach Pride

Queen Latifah is responding for the first time since reports of her coming out as a lesbian  at Long Beach Pride event on May 19th surfaced. “That definitely wasn’t the case,” she tells Entertainment Weekly, “I’ve never dealt with the question of my personal life in public. It’s just not gonna happen.” She has long faced rumors that she is a lesbian and the fact that the Southern California event marked her first performance at a Pride festival had convinced excited fans that she was finally going to confirm what so many have speculated about for years.

According to the Advocate, while on stage on May 19, Latifah reportedly referred to the crowd as “her people” and asked “Are you feeling all the unity?” causing some to believe that she had indeed come out.

That said, the 42-year old was thrilled to participate in the event and even recalled an earlier performance for gay audiences. “To me, doing a gay pride show is one of the most fun things,” she says. “My first show that paid more than $10,000 was in a gay club on New Year’s Eve in San Francisco. Tupac happened to be in town, so he came to kick it with me. This was the early ’90s. And the boys were like, ‘Take your shirt off, Tupac!’  He wasn’t doing that. But we had a blast in there.”

Latifah — who’s starring in an upcoming remake of Steel Magnolias for Lifetime — also reiterated her support for her gay fans. “I know that the most important thing and the only thing I have to give is love. When people are going through hatred and bullying, the biggest thing to fight that is love,” she says. “So that’s all I encouraged my audience to do that night: to share their light and share their love. Period.”

There you have it!

In a sad case of life imitating art, Desperate Housewives‘ Star Kathryn Joosten best known as Ms. McKluskey has passed away yesterday (6/1) after a long battle with lung cancer. The actress death comes less than three weeks after the ”Desperate Housewives” series finale, which saw the eventual death of Ms. McKluskey from cancer.

Actress Kathryn Joosten, best known as “Desperate Housewives’” most meddlesome neighbor Karen McKluskey, died Friday after a long battle with lung cancer. She was 72.

Joosten’s death came less than three weeks after the emotional “Desperate Housewives” series finale, which saw the redemption and eventual death of Mrs. McKluskey as well.

Joosten won two Emmys for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her “Desperate” role, in 2005 and 2008, and was nominated for a third time in 2010.

Prior to her residence on Wisteria Lane, Joosten had another tony TV address: The White House. She played Mrs. Landingham, President Bartlet’s (Martin Sheen) secretary on “The West Wing” for the series’ first two seasons until her character died in a car accident.

She also had memorable TV roles on “Scrubs,” “Joan of Arcadia,” “My Name Is Earl,” “General Hospital” and “Dharma & Greg.”

Joosten was first diagnosed with lung cancer in 2001. The cancer returned in September 2009. After Joosten underwent surgery and chemotherapy treatments, she was officially declared cancer-free in January 2010. She was an advocate for lung cancer awareness and research, even doing speaking engagements about her battle. (HP)
