Beyonce & Michelle Obama Team Up To Help Reduce Childhood Obesity
Beyoncé wants to get you in shape. The “Bootylicious” singer has joined forces with First Lady Michelle Obama and the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation to help fight childhood obesity.
The 16-time Grammy Award winner has re-written and re-recorded one of her hit songs for the “Let’s Move! Flash Workout” campaign. She will also provide an instructional video demonstrating the dance/exercise routine, which will be distributed to participating schools.
“I am excited to be part of this effort that addresses a public health crisis,” stated Beyoncé. “First Lady Michelle Obama deserves credit for tackling this issue directly, and I applaud the NAB Education Foundation for trying to make a positive difference in the lives of our schoolchildren.”
Middle school students across the country will participate in a pre-choreographed “Let’s Move!” dance exercise routine at an identical time on May 3 at 1:42 p.m. EST.
President Obama’s Emotional Farewell to: Dr. Dorothy Height

Dr. Height led the NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR NEGRO WOMEN for four decades and was present at the key battles for racial equality since the 1930s. She DIED AT AGE 98 after a lifetime devoted to the fight for equality.
The President EULOGIZED the “Godmother” of the American Civil Rights Movement, citing her humility and fight for the cause: “She never cared about who got the credit. What she cared about was the cause. The cause of justice, the cause of equality, the cause of opportunity, freedom’s cause.”
He also revealed that Dr. Height had visited the Obama White House over 20 times and urged Americans to honor her memory by serving and improving their country.
A video of the President’s remarks is included below.

Whats on First Lady Michelle Obama & The Queen of England's iPod?
On their first visit the United Kingdom, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama presented Queen Elizabeth II with a gift: an iPod. Now, that sounds kind of inexpensive (and inappropriate) for an 82-year-old monarch, but it turns out the iPod was part of a larger gift: a rare book of songs from famed Broadway musical composers Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, signed by Rodgers in May 1952. The iPod was loaded with showtunes, including songs from British-based musicals “My Fair Lady” and “Camelot.”
Now we know what the Queen has on here iPod, but have you ever wonder what kind of music she’s listening to on her iPod?
Wonder no more. The First Lady recently revealed her iPod playlist to a group of children visiting the White House during a talk on “Take Your Children To Work Day.” Not surprisingly, she has Michael Jackson, Sting and Stevie Wonder, whom she has she repeatedly said is her favorite singer.
Most surprising, she said she has “the latest” Usher on her playlist. We bet it’s not Daddy’s Home though. And just to show she’s as much of a girlie girl as the rest of us, the First Lady said she also listens to Rihanna and Beyonce. “I love some Beyonce,” she said, giggling. “I love to dance, I love a good beat.” We can definitely relate to that.
