Adam Levine pays homage to Mick Jagger with a fitting tribute. The shirtlessMaroon 5 frontman struts his stuff as the iconic Rolling Stones rocker in the video for “Moves Like Jagger,” a single off the deluxe edition of the band’s latestalbum Hands All Over. The Jonas Åckerlund-directed clip (Lady Gaga, Beyoncé) co-stars Levine’s fellow “Voice” judge Christina Aguilera and a slew of dancing Jagger wannabes, plus vintage footage of the man himself.
“We were lucky enough to get Mick’s endorsement [for the video], as far as him giving us access to a bunch of different footage that’s so cool,” Levine told MTV News. “Not many people have seen [it], especially a newer generation of people that don’t know so much about how incredible he was.”
Maroon 5 made an appearance on America’s Got Talent with host Nick Cannon. They perform there current single “Moves Like Jagger” without Christina Aguliera this time. Watch their performance below with a explanation as to what, precisely, are moves like Jagger? Says Adam:
[His moves are] a very carefully calculated, but slightly spastic, incredible rhythmic experience, in which all of your limbs and every bone in your body is moving at completely different times, and it’s impossible to re-create. Nobody has moves like Jagger, that’s kind of the point. … That’s why the song is so fun, it’s fun to try.
