Mary J. Bilge Performs “Anyway You Want It” on ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Singer Mary J. Blige and the the cast of upcoming film ‘Rock of Ages‘ performed ‘Any Way You Want It‘ last night in ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. The track is a cover of Journey’s ‘Anyways You Want It’ from the official soundtrack of ‘Rock The Ages’.

The film follows waitress Sherrie Christian (Julian Hough) and busybody Dre Boleyn (Diego Boneta) who fall in love during the pop metal era of the 80s. Mary J. Blige plays the club owner justine with cast members such as Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alex Baldwin an many more. The film hits theaters June 15th.

Wearing a hat that would make Real Housewives of Atlanta Pheadra Parks proud, singer Mary J. Blige sang the national anthem to the crowd at the “Kentucky Derby”.  When it comes to the national anthem this isn’t Mary’s first ride around the track. Just two months ago she performed the national anthem at the “2012 NBA All Star Games” and completely destroyed the song. However she redeemed herself with yesterdays performance and from the applauds of the crowd I think they agreed as well.  Watch the video below and let me know what you think of this performance.

Mary J. Blige Graces The Cover of “Essence” Magazine

Mary J. Blige and her little red dress graces the cover of “Essence” magazine June 2012 issue. The editor over at “Essence” must really love Mary, because this is the singers 12th time making the cover of the magazine. Having grace the cove so many times earned Mary the special privilege as guest editor for the issue, providing insight on fashion, relationships, money management and more.

The cover also serves as promotion for Mary’s appearance at this years annual Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. The issue will hit news stands May 11th, be sure to grab a copy.
