New Music: Waka Flocka Flame Ft. Nicki Minaj, Tyga & Flo Rida – “Get Low”

Waka Flocka Flame links up with Flo Rida and YMCMB artists Nicki Minaj and Tyga for his new single “Get Low” . The single is from his upcoming second studio album, ‘Triple F Life: Friends, Fans and Family’, currently set to be released in the United States on June 12, 2012.

This track would have been such a hot track if Waka didn’t keep saying “pow pow pow” throughout the song. However I do commend him for taking a chance and giving us something more pop radio friendly. As usually Nicki sure didn’t disappoint, if there is one thing she is really good at, its features. So…How are you feeling the song?

This is a fire fire a*s remix. It was gold for DJ Khaled to put Busta & Twista on the track. A star-studded crew included Ludacris, T-Pain, Busta Rhymes, Mavado, Twista, Birdman, Ace Hood, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Bun B, Game, and Waka Flocka Flame. Take a trip back to the neighborhood on the high-wattage remix.

Gucci Mane & Britney Spears Collaboration Will Be A "Hit"

Gucci confirms to RumorFix that he’ll be spitting a few bars on Britney’s new tune, “Hit”. The unlikely duo will meet next week in an Atlanta studio at Mizay Entertainment to record the track. The hip-hop artist tells RumorFix that Britney has been a fan of his music for years, that’s why he chose to do the song with her. “Britney’s so icy,” Gucci tells RumorFix exclusively, “I’m going to make her go Brrr.” Gucci tells RumorFix he chose to work with Britney because she’s “raw and exciting. She’s crazy. We like to get down like that.” (RumorFix)

Now MTV has come up with a list of five reasons why the ideo of Britney & Gucci getting together isn’t such a bad idea.

1. Britney currently has the No. 1 single in the country

In case you haven’t heard, Kanye West came under fire again this week for taking a shot — a sarcastic shot but a shot nonetheless — at Britney on Twitter for topping his single, “H.A.M.,” featuring Jay-Z, last week. And the pop star’s “Hold It Against Me” looks poised to keep Britney’s name in the headlines for at least a few months, which could greatly benefit Gucci if he scores a song with her as well.

2. Gucci and Britney have both had their “crazy” moments

Whether either of them were legitimately mentally incompetent or not, both Gucci and Britney had very public meltdowns that were perpetuated by the media. So getting them into the same room together could: A) Get them talking about their individual situations and sympathizing with one another, and B) Result in one hell of a song if they develop a chemistry between them as a result of it.

3. Britney is very calculated in her decision-making process right now

If Britney wants to work with Gucci right now, it’s not because she feels like experimenting with her sound. She’s also not doing it because she needs a rapper on her new album. Truth is, she doesn’t need a Gucci Mane feature, she’ll be just fine without it. So if she agrees to work with Gooch, she’s obviously doing it for a reason. On the other hand, a Britney Spears collabo would look great on Gucci’s resume, which is all the more reason for him to make sure he makes it worth Britney’s while to work with him.

4. Gucci needs a hit record—not now, but right now

Gucci may have the bigger name, but to-date, his protégé Waka Flocka Flame actually has the bigger hits. “No Hands” was huge in the clubs and on the charts in 2010. Flocka looks poised to continue that run of success well into 2011. Gooch needs a hit of his own right now, so it’s a no-brainer for him to do everything that he can to find it.

5. No one really thought a Christina Aguilera and Redman collaboration (um…?) would work, either

Sometimes, super obvious pop/rap collaborations don’t work because they’re too predictable for people to enjoy. So let’s say Britney teamed up with Nelly or Flo Rida or even Kanye for a song. It might be cool, but it also might be terribly cliché. Choosing Gucci is a risk, but it’s a risk that could offer a big reward. We have to believe ‘Tina did the same thing back in 2002 when she chose to offer some guest bars to Redman on a remake of his 2001 song, “Let’s Get Dirty (I Can’t Get in da Club).” And we all know how that worked out, right? So before we shut it down, let’s give this collabo a chance.

Waka Flocka & Gucci Mane Are Back In Jail

Waka Flocka Flame isn’t putting up a fight. The “Hard in da Paint” rapper turned himself over to authorities today on a variety of drug, gun, and gang-related charges stemming from a police raid of his home in December. According to TMZ, Waka avoided going on the lam because, as his mother Debra Antney explained, he “didn’t want to run.”

The gruff spitter, whose Atlanta house was raided on December 16 while he wasn’t in the residence, was booked on charges including possession of marijuana, a firearm by a convicted felon, hydrocodone, and a firearm during the commission of a felony; violation of probation for driving on a suspended license; and violating Georgia’s “Criminal Street Gang and Terror Prevention Act.”

Currently being held on $31,950 bond with a hearing set for tomorrow, the New York native surrendered because “he wanted to do the right thing and didn’t want to run.” Coincidentally, his mentor Gucci Mane headed to jail today after he was arrested while in Waka’s house during the raid. He is facing a 17-month sentence if found guilty for violating his probation.
